Calm Leash Notes / Trigger log
Trigger log
The short version
Log each reaction as it happens: what the trigger was, how far away, how big the reaction, and how long recovery took. A simple log makes patterns and progress easier to see. Print this page or copy the table.
How to use it
Fill a row right after each walk while it's fresh. The 1-5 intensity scale and the columns below are an optional convention to keep your notes consistent - not a validated clinical scale. Suggested readings: 1 = noticed but loose, 3 = barking with some lunging, 5 = full explosion. Recovery = minutes until your dog walked normally again.
| Date | Trigger (be specific) | Distance (ft) | Intensity 1-5 | Recovery (min) | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
Tip: the PawLine app answers reactivity questions with published research, tailored to your dog's breed, age, weight and health. PawLine app, patent pending.
What to do with a few weeks of rows
- Circle your dog's worst trigger and longest distances - that's where training starts easiest first.
- Compare recent recovery times to your first rows. That trend is your progress report.
- Bring the log to any trainer or vet visit - it replaces 20 minutes of guessing.
